At an extraordinary sitting on 29th of July, the Members of Parliament passed at first reading the update of the budget of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).
Out of 185 MPs in total, 184 voted ‘ín favour’ and one abstained.
The proposal for update of the NHIF budget and the state budget was tabled to the National Assembly on 16th of July. Several days earlier, during consultations at the Head of State’s Office, all political parties attending the meeting agreed that update of the NHIF budget was necessary.
The update proposed by the government will allocate 225 million BGN for the NHIF.
