Police Disrupts Crime Ring for Production of Fake Money, Amphetamine

Five people were detained for production of amphetamine, counterfeit dollars and euros on 15th of December.

The operation was carried out by the Directorate for Combatting Organised Crime under the supervision of the Specialised Prosecutor’s Office.

The crime ring operated on the territory of Kazanlak, Stara Zagora and Gabrovo. It had its own workshop for methamphetamine production. The drug was distributed mainly in Kazanlak and Stara Zagora.

The leader of the ring has also independently produced counterfeit dollars and euros. He had already been convicted as a counterfeiter and had served 3 and a half years in prison. After his release, he re-established his criminal activity and equiped a production workshop in Gabrovo. The printing machine, plates and paper were of exceptionally high quality, investigators commented.
