Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov met Ursula von der Leyen who arrived in Sofia Thursday.
President-elect of the European Commission demonstrated her support for Bulgaria while having talks with PM Borissov.
Von der Leyen's visit to the Balkan country is part of the consultations with the leaders of EU member states prior to the formal introduction of the new commissioners.
President-elect of the EC pointed out the important role of Bulgaria in the EU and thanked Borissov for the country's support of her candidacy in the election for the highest position of the Commission.
