President presented state awards to distinguished Bulgarian scientists and creative artists

Upholding our cultural traditions is a particularly important example for the young generation to see young people in cultural, educational and scientific achievements as an investment in their future and the common Bulgarian path to success. This was stated by President Rumen Radev at a solemn ceremony in the Coat of Arms Hall of the Presidency, at which Bulgarian artists and scientists were presented with state awards.

"You are building fundamental values, cultivating a worldview and opening new horizons for generations," the head of state stressed at the ceremony.

Ivan Terziev was awarded the Order of "St. St. Cyril and Methodius - pendant”. The orders of "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”first degree were awarded Lozan Lozanov, Nikolay Georgiev and Rashko Ivanov. Donka Koprinkova was presented with "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ” order, second degree.

"On the eve of the Day of the National Revival Leaders (November 1), I am proud to present the highest state awards to distinguished Bulgarians for their indisputable contribution to Bulgarian culture and prosperity," said the head of state and described the biographies of the distinguished guests as a story of decades of creative work and talent, dedicated to social development, spiritual growth and deepening our friendship with other nations.

Ivan Terziev is among the talented Bulgarian artists, known for his feature and documentary films ("Mr. Nobody", "Men without Work", "Strong Water" and the series "The Village"), as well as for his active teaching activities. He is also a screenwriter and director of a series of 7 short stories and several short documentaries.

Lozan Lozanov is among the successful and respected artists with an indisputable contribution to the development of contemporary Bulgarian architecture. He works actively with prominent artists and sculptors. He has won many prestigious awards and distinctions. He created, among many others, the emblematic public buildings, the Boyana Residence, the Post Office in the town of Rousse - together with arch. Bogdan Tomalevski and Hotel Pliska in co-authorship with arch. Hristo Tsvetkov.

Nikolai Georgiev focuses his creative search as a director on the authentic meeting between actors and spectators. He is the director and screenwriter of over 150 productions shown around the world, which have brought him international recognition and numerous awards. He created private and informal troupes, including the Bim Bom University Theatre, the 4 + 4 Informal Theatre, and the First Women's Theatre, and introduced experimental theatre classes. It marks the beginning of the specialty "Synthetic Performing Arts" and the master's program "Management and Production in the Field of Art and Culture" at the University of Plovdiv.

Rashko Ivanov is among the initiators фор the establishment of the Croatian-Bulgarian society, which includes some of the most famous personalities in Zagreb. He maintains close contacts with Bulgarian scientists and academics. He actively works for the successful cooperation between Croatian and Bulgarian cultural institutes.

Donka Koprinkova has dedicated her professional path to Bulgarian choral art. Since 1965 she has been the chief artistic director and conductor of the Slavic Unity Choir, which has won numerous national and foreign festivals and won 18 international awards.

On behalf of those receiving state awards, Ivan Terziev thanked for the recognition and reminded of the importance of the mission of the Bulgarian teachers, who lead the constant struggle for the spirituality of the Bulgarian people.
