This year, a modern research laboratory will be set up at the Bulgarian base on the ice continent, where Bulgarian scientists will be able to do their research. According to Prof. Pimpirev, this will be a great achievement for the Bulgarian group and for Bulgaria and will clearly show that the country will continue to be among the countries most developed in exploring the mysteries of the Antarctic.
He stressed that expeditions are an integral part of the national polar research programme every year. Prof. Pimpirev thanked the Presidential Institution, which has been supporting the activities of the Bulgarian team of polar researchers for a quarter of a century.
