The Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, on October 28 described the future composition of the Bulgarian parliament as "an interesting political mosaic".
He expressed hope that there will be a government in Bulgaria, that "there will not be an eighth general election in a row" and that talks can be held with the new Bulgarian government and "a solution will be found to unblock the path of the Republic of North Macedonia towards the EU".
After inspecting the work on the Gostivar-Bukoichani motorway section, part of the Corridor 8 transport network, in response to a journalist's question, Mickoski said that in Bulgaria he expects a government formed by three political partners, which cannot be without GERB-UDF and We Continue Change-Democratic Bulgaria, recalling that they are from the same European political family with GERB.
The parliamentary elections held on October 27 in Bulgaria were followed with attention in the Republic of North Macedonia. Politicians from the ruling coalition in the country have repeatedly indicated that they expect a political government to be formed in Bulgaria in order to hold talks related to the proposal of the Republic of North Macedonia for constitutional changes to come into force once the country becomes an EU member.
The inclusion of Bulgarians in North Macedonia's constitution is a condition for holding a second intergovernmental conference and opening negotiation clusters with the EU.
