From the exit poll results it is obvious that the pair Radev - Yotova wins the presidential elections by a large margin. Congratulations to the winners - we all hope that for the good of the whole nation, their promises will come true, not my predictions, Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov, who lost the runoff to the current president Rumen Radev, said in a briefing shortly after the close of voting on November 21.
The entire state apparatus worked for the incumbent president. The caretaker Minister Interior was directly involved as a spokesman for the entire election headquarters, said Prof. Gerdzhikov.
He described as an "insinuation" the inspection conducted by the authorities at Sofia University only a few days before today's runoff.
We have significantly influenced the change of political style and behaviour, said Prof. Gerdzhikov.
It is not possible now for everyone, who understood that unification is the right direction, to start again with the dividing lines, he added.

I believe that all of you who voted for us and to whom I thank, these several hundred thousand votes will not be in vain, he said.
The main fault that we did not get a better result at the elections is ours, he added. According to him, the problem is that people no longer trust anyone.
What is certain is that I will not take the path of politics. Of course, I will return to the university, he added.
Low voter turnout is the main problem. I think that one won and the other failed, it is nothing compared to those 80% of Bulgarians who did not vote, says Prof. Gerdzhikov.
