The Minister of Interior, Tsvetlin Yovchev, says on 2nd of July that the refugee influx to Bulgaria is still going on and every day the Bulgarian border police turn back between 150-200 of the people approaching the border.
The Interior Minister also said that when the fence at the border with Turkey was ready, about 700 of total 1000 policemen, who currently work at the border, would be withdrawn. By Sunday, 29th of June, 23 kilometers of the secondary fence of the facility have been built and in a few days the fence will be completed, explained the Minister of Defense, Angel Naidenov. He added that the fence costsa little less than 9 million BGN and 1.5 million from them were provided by the Ministry of Defense.
So far, 2450 refugees have been granted status and have the right to apply for jobs in Bulgaria. The Deputy Prime Minister, Daniela Bobeva explained that the foreigners with granted status would be allocated in accordance with their skills to the municipalities which had the largest number of vacancies.
