Many residents in the South-Central Bulgarian region of Karlovo spent a sleepless night on 14th of June cleaning up water from their flooded homes after the torrential rains.
Two rivers near Karlovo burst their banks as a result of the downpours. Most affected is the village of Dabene. The 3 metre high surge from Martvitsa river flooded 15 houses and several streets.
Two old bridges were removed to facilitate drainage.
