Road hauliers intend tol block all road exits of Sofia on Friday, 1st of August, announced Krasimir Lalov, the deputy head of the National Association of the Bulgarian Road Carriers.
The road haulage companies chose this form of protest against the decision of the Road Infrastructure Agency to increase the number of road routes, which are banned for use by heavy lorries on Fridays and Sundays. According to Lalov, the order, which includes the list of new restrictions, was issued without prior agreement with the association and companies from the road haulage industry.
Sofia road hauliers expect to be supported by their collegaues from the second largest Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.
