The Bulgarian-Serbian gas link will be part of the TurkStream. This was announced on July 26 by Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak. In his words, Moscow chose Bulgaria, instead of Greece, to transport gas to Southeast Europe.
The Bulgarian Energy Ministry commented for BNT that they continue to work on the idea of implementing a gas distribution centre “Balkan” near Provadia, which also includes an extension of the gas transmission network from the Turkish-Bulgarian to the Bulgarian-Serbian border. Turkey's flow capacity through Bulgaria will be 15 billion cubic metres. At the moment the construction of the Bulgarian section is delayed due to an appeal.
