Almost all the Serbian children who were travelling on the bus that crashed on Trakia motorway have been back to Serbia since yesterday. Two boys, who are in a more serious condition, are in "Pirogov" emergency hospital (in Sofia) for treatment. A family - a father, mother and three daughters – have been in the hospital in Stara Zagora. One adult who had his leg amputated is also still in hospital in Bulgaria. All the others passengers are now back in Serbia and hopefully will be home with their families in a few days, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Bulgaria, H.E. Željko Jović, said on August 16.

"Personally, I and all my friends in Serbia, all Serbian institutions, are very happy for everything that our citizens have received as an assistance after this terrible accident. Such accidents are not happy events, but when you see another nation, another peoples - fraternal, friendly, when you see how they take care of their citizens, that they are all together, acting immediately, urgently and as one, you cannot help but be satisfied. This is what I said to my Bulgarian friends yesterday - if such an accident were to happen, it is good that it happened in Bulgaria.

Thank you, Bulgarian brothers, thank you to all the institutions, to the mayor of Stara Zagora, to the ordinary people. It was not only institutions here. We saw the reaction of ordinary people who were passing, on their way returning from the sea, who stopped and reacted immediately, not thinking about themselves, about their children in the car, but thinking about how to help the children who needed help. Thank you very much to everyone who participated," said H.E. Željko Jović.

The ambassador also pointed out that the bus crash is the number one topic in Serbia and there is a debate about who is to blame and why it happened.
