Several officials of the Strate Agency for Bulgarians Abroad were arrested in the morning on 29th of October for alleged bribe taking, fake documents and malfeasance. The prosecutor's office and the Ministry of Interior neither confirmed nor denied the arrest of the chair of the agency Petar Haralampiev.
In addition to offices in Sofia, searches take pplace in Kyustendil and Pleven. The alert which caused the start of the investigation was about issued documents for Bulgarian origin in return of several thousand euros.
