The active fires at the moment are in three districts - Yambol, Plovdiv and Haskovo. Technical equipment from Northern Bulgaria is directed to Plovdiv in the area of Beklemeto, where the fight against the fire continues. The teams are monitoring and on duty because of the fire in the village of Otets Paisievo. In Haskovo, there are 5 teams on site, at the village of Malyk izvor. At the moment the fire there is a lowland in a deciduous forest. Teams continue to battle the blaze and around the village of Krepost, the town of Harmanli and the village of Varnik.

The situation is extremely complicated in the village of Voden in Yambol district. The teams there are working on three fronts - they are at Krainovo, Strandzhevo and Malko Sharkovo. There is an arrangement for redirection of fire engines from Northern Bulgaria. The flames scorched 15 houses in Krainovo yesterday, after 35 were burned in Voden. Four helicopters are working today, including two from the Czech Republic.

Several settlements are without electricity.

The gendarmerie cordoned off the roads and prevented vehicles from passing through. Firefighters and military personnel stayed at the scene all night.

"No people were injured, no casualties"

BNT: Have people been evacuated?

"There is no problem in the village or around the village," said Kalin Stoyanov, caretaker Minister of Interior.

Firefighters were injured in the battle with the fire near Krajnovo.

"The fire entered with high force in a place where they were deployed for protection and barely managed to get out. As a consequence, their colleagues are burnt, despite this they continue to work," stressed Alexander Dzhartov - Director of the General Directorate of Fire Safety and Population Protection.

Although the situation is currently under control, the risk remains.

"There are big fronts, the weather was hot and temperatures were extremely high yesterday, there was also extremely strong wind. We heard a few stories really, but let's also hear the stories of the people whose homes have been saved, here what is being reported in the media is a very small part of what is happening in the country, there are many wildfires being battled across the country at the moment," said Kalin Stoyanov.

The situation in the neighbouring village of Voden, where 35 house burned down, is calming down. The fire was near a nursing home, the residents were temporarily evacuated. Now some of them are back in the building, others are with relatives.

"There was no tension created, once the fire was contained they were back in their rooms where they live, so for the moment there is no tension everything is calm," said Zlatka Yaneva - the director of the home.

Zlatka Yaneva's house was among those burnt down and she is also currently living in the home.

"My house was destroyed by the wildfire. But I have to take care of these people because it is humanity to be with them and in such difficult moments to help these old people," Zlatka Yaneva was adamant.

The director urged everyone who can help - to do so. She hopes that the promised help from the state will be received.

Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev visited the fire-affected Voden and Krainovo villages and announced that he would convene the Security Council at the Council of Ministers.

"We will invite representatives of the parliamentary forces to clarify the issue of the resignation you are asking about and when they hear what has been done, let's see if they will support the resignation request," caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev stressed.

Glavchev said that the minister of transport and communications had a meeting with mobile operators today and would start putting up cells to ensure coverage for those living there.
