Bulgaria’s Ministry of Transport says that the concession procedure for Sofia Airport has been suspended because of a complaint submitted to the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC), Bulgarian National Radio said on 19th of June.
The complaint was lodged by Saudi-Kuwaiti companies, which had built the new runway of the airport. The company is engaged in litigation with Sofia airport over unpaid financial penalties.
The decision for the concession of Sofia Airport was promulgated on 2nd of June. The government intended to grant the concession right for a period of 35 years, projecting a net effect of 1,200 million BGN.
