Exactly at 12 o’clock on 1st of August people started dancing to traditional Bulgarian folk music in the waiting room at the station in order to celebrate the 130th anniversary.

The first building of the station was designed by the then chief architect of Sofia, but was completely destroyed in 1974 in order to build the new building.
