In the fifth attempt to elect a chair, WCC-DB ("Save Sofia") changed its nomination.
This morning, the coalition nominated Greti Stefanova, who has been chairing the meetings so far as the oldest councillor.
However, her nomination failed to garner the required 31 votes in the 61-seat city parliament.
In the first round of voting, 30 councillors took part. Greti Stefanova was backed by 22 votes, and the candidate of "There is Such a People", Plamen Danailov, got 6. Two votes were invalid.
A second round of voting followed with similar results - out of 29 total voters, Greti Stefanova received 23 votes, Plamen Danailov - 5, and one was determined invalid.
After another failure to elect the chairperson of the Sofia City Council, Greti Stefanova said that she apologised to all the citizens of Sofia for the situation.
