The new academic year at the oldest university in Bulgaria, Sofia university “St. Kliment Ochridski”, was officially opened on 1st of October. The opening ceremony was also attended by Bulgaria’s Vice President, Iliana Yotova.
As part of the tradition, the Vice President and the Rector of the University, Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov, layed wreaths at the monument of the two brothers Evloghi and Hristo Georgievi, who had provided the financial support to build the university building.
Some 4,455 have enrolled in Sofia University this year.
