By orders of Pleven district governor, Miroslav Petrov, state of emergency was declared on the territory of Pleven because of the outbreaks of African Swine Fever in private farms in the municipalities of Gulyantsi, Nikopol, Levski and Belene, (Northern Bulgaria). This was announced by the press office of the District Administration on July 24. The state of emergency comes into effect as of today and will last until July 31. The period may be extended as required.
The declared state of emergency makes it possible to involve a wider range of institutions in activities aimed at limiting the spread of the African Swine Fever disease, the District Governor said. He stressed that strict adherence to the measures taken by the relevant institutions as well as the cooperation of local authorities and farmers is of utmost importance for the effectiveness of the actions taken.
