The Head of Bulgaria’s National Revenue Agency Galya Dimitrova said on July 31 that she would not submit resignation after the recent hacker attack in which the personal data of more than 5 million Bulgarian taxpayers was leaked.
She specified that an internal audit is being carried out and those responsible for the data breach will be punished. Dimitrova has demanded the resignation of the head of the Information Security Directorate Boyan Ganev and the head of the Information Systems Directorate Atanas Yanev, who has already resigned from the post.
Galya Dimitrova, Executive Director of the NRA: Resignation is the easiest thing, I have spoken many times with Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov, including on this topic. We have commented on it. What he wants from me is solutions rather than resignation. What matters at the moment, what he wants us to do is protect the interests of the citizens. I haven't been on a cruise during the leave. I'm sorry, but the reason is personal and I don't want to share it.
