TENSION RISES AS NIGHT WOLVES ROCKERS ARRIVED IN BULGARIA’S BOURGAS

The motorcyclists from the Russian club “Night Wolves”, known as Putin's Rockers, arrived in the Bulgarian Black Sea coastal city of Bourgas in the morning on 30th of June.

A group of Bulgarians and Ukrainians, who organized themselves through the social media networks waited at the entrance of Bourgas to protest against the Night Wolves.

Tension occurred between the supporters of the Russian rockers and the protesting groups, which escalated into exchange of blows. 15 people from the two camps were taken to the police to be questioned. Some of them were ordered into 24-hour custody pending charges in hooliganism.

The rockers are part of the “Slavic World” bike tour in 2016 which will pass through many Balkan countries en route to the final destination, the Slovak town of Nitra. So far, they have passed more than 6,000 km.

After planting a tree in one of the parks in Bourgas, the Night Wolves set off to Shipka Memorial where they paid tribute to the Russian heroes, who died in the Russo –Turkish war.
