The evacuated sailors from the ship Tsarevna (which has been blocked in the Ukrainian port of Mariupol) arrived by the government plane at Varna airport on April 18. The relatives of the sailors met them on the runway.

One of the sailors said, "The scariest thing was the bombs and shells as there was a hole in the ship."

The sailors told the media that there was damage to the ship. They got off the ship themselves and were met by soldiers who received them very well, put them on a bus and took them to a hotel in Donetsk and from there to Rostov-on-Don. The sailors said that they were not sure which country the soldiers represented, they assumed it was Russia.

They were met at the airport by Prime Minister Kirill Petkov and Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska.

"Now our focus is on the next ship in Chernomorsk and, of course, we hope to see the captain of the Tsarevna soon, but that is more complicated because he will stay on board until the ship itself can leave," Kirill Petkov said.

The sailors in the Rozhen ship have also expressed a desire to evacuate when the ship can also leave the waters of the Black Sea.

"We hope for a blue corridor as in Chernomorsk the situation is not so dynamic. I urge the media to report the information correctly because any misinformation affects their evacuation efforts," said Teodora Genchovska.

She added that the operation to remove the sailors from Tsarevna was coordinated entirely by the Bulgarian government, as there was no official communication with representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.

Kiril Petkov added that twice there was a possibility of meeting the sailors on the other side of the fence of the port of Mariupol, but the captain judged it dangerous.

Shipowner Daniel Stefanov said that all shipowners of blocked ships in Mariupol were in contact with Russia, Ukraine and Turkey as a mediator to resolve the issue of the blue corridor, but it was very complicated. There is damage to the ship, but the company is hopeful that the vessel will be able to return on its own. This will require additional crew to be brought on board.

The people remaining on the ship have sufficient supplies of food and water.

"Whenever they wish, they can be evacuated. I am extremely proud of my captain. We have damage to the ship - from shrapnel and splinters, but it's not that serious. Hopefully, when it is safe, the ship will be brought out. " - said Daniel Stefanov, owner of the ship

The evacuation of the 14 Bulgarian sailors and one Ukrainian citizen began on Wednesday last week. After leaving the ship, they were transported to Donetsk, where a corridor was provided for their safe return.

Five people, including the captain, remained on the ship of their own free will.
