The Bulgarian Socialist Party in a meeting with “We Continue the Change”: Ninova - we do not intend to delay any further, Petkov - Bulgaria does not need a political crisis

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) began consultations about forming a government with “We Continue the Change”.

“In this first meeting we have four things to tell you - to thank you and to note that, as a government, we accomplished many good things until now, we leave the country with financial stability, economic growth and with a very good social policy. Secondly, we are worried about the months ahead - new challenges await, which is why we intend to make efforts to form a government. Thirdly, we intend to use the programme that we created together, as a base, and fourthly, we do not want to aim to delay the process,” said Kornelia Ninova, leader of BSP, at the beginning of the meeting.

“We worked very constructively, especially on the social policy. We have the highest growth in Europe of industrial manufacturing,” declared Kiril Petkov.

According to his words, Bulgaria does not need an additional political crisis, 22 laws have to be approved in the next months.

“It is important that we move forward in all aspects of the recovery strategy. We will talk about policies. The first point in the programme we accepted is the approval of the new law for the Commission for Anti-Corruption and Illegal Assets Forfeiture (CACIAF), an anticorruption law, with the nomination of Mr. Rashkov,” added Kiril Petkov.

Yesterday, the Bulgarian President Rumen Radev presented the third mandate to BSP. The party noted that the nomination for the position of Prime Minister should come from “We Continue the Change” as the largest political group in the current parliament.

The Left will not seek support from GERB-UDF, the Movement for Rights and Freedom (MRF) and “Vazrazhdane”.
