The new ministers took office and outlined priorities

After the ceremony in the Council of Ministers, the caretaker ministers handed over power to the new government. And the new ministers presented their priorities for the first days of governance.

"We are taking over the state's finances in a good condition, better than anticipated. We expect Bulgaria's economy to move forward, a rapid recovery from the crisis and all social and infrastructure costs to be secured without burdening the country with additional debts," said Assen Vassilev, Minister of Finance.

Earlier in the Parliament, Assen Vassilev announced that every effort will be made to avoid changes in the price of electricity for household consumers from January 1. According to him, next year's budget will have money for the main priorities of the new cabinet, such as free-of-charge kindergartens and indexation of pensions.

"That is why we set an ambitious goal to achieve high economic growth, economy of knowledge, to reduce the gray sector, to alleviate bureaucracy and administrative burdens, to focus mainly on helping Bulgarian business," said Kornelia Ninova.

For the Minister of Innovation and Growth, Daniel Laurer, the first task is to review European and national financial instruments.

Review of the fiches under the Recovery and Development Plan, as well as the two operational programmes and together with this interpretation of the set of financial institutions we have to promote business – Bulgarian Development Bank, the Fund of Funds, the Bulgarian Investment Agency. I really want to find a crossroads between these instruments and be able to direct them even more properly to support Bulgarian business," said Daniel Lorer, Minister of Innovation and Growth.

At an official ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs, Svetlan Stoev, handed over the post to Teodora Genchovska. The new Minister of Culture Atanas Atanasov promised that he would work on drafting a Strategy for the Development of Bulgarian Culture over the next 10 years.
