Despite the efforts of the medics, the woman who was injured in the murder-suicide shooting in Sofia underground died this morning, May 18.
This was confirmed by St. Anna Hospital for BNT. The medical institution expresses its condolences to the family and relatives.
In the incident that took place on May 12 in the Sofia underground, a man shot a woman on a train at the Sofia Airport metro station and committed suicide. The woman had four gunshot wounds and was admitted to hospital in a critical conditionl.
Sofia Airport Metro Station is the last stop on the line, which is why the driver got off his cab.
Shortly afterwards, through the open door of one of the trains, he saw the two bodies and alerted the police.
The man who shot the woman committed suicide with a Makarov pistol he legally owned. He worked as security guard.
The investigation into the incident works on different premisses. One is attempted murder out of jealousy. The second is that the woman told her family about a man who was stalking her.
