Thousands marched Wednesday evening in the main boulevards of the Bulgarian capital city to insist on the resignation of PM Borissov and Prosecutor-General Geshev. People consider this first step to radical political and judicial reforms which would crash corrupt model of government.
Protesters came Wednesday from all over the country to gather at Nezavissimost (Independence) square situated between the buildings of the Council of Ministers and of the Presidency. The rally was the starting point for a massive march throughout the city.
Key intersections were blocked by the protesters. Blockades at some points were lifted late in the evening.
Protesters’ camps still remain Thursday morning at two emblematic squares - Orlov Most and Nezavissimost. Police appealed for order.
Some lines of public transportation have been changed and communal authorities recommend the use of subway.
