A state of emergency has been declared in the town of Trun, Western Bulgaria, since the morning on January 11 due to the heavy rains and high levels of the Erma River, the mayor of the municipality Tsvetislava Tsvetkova confirmed for BNT.
In some places the river has overflowed its bed. There are no stranded people.
According to the mayor of Trun, there are flooded basements and yards. There are also flooded agricultural areas. It is still raining.
The road to one of the neighbourhoods in Trun is closed because the river passes under it.
The construction of a dike started.
