Trade unions and employers in Bulgaria demand the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) to immediately establish a steering committee, which will include competent banking professionals, demanded Trade Unions and Employers in Bulgaria on 23rd of July in relation to the Corporate Commercial Bank crisis. According to them, the members of the supervisory committee should be independent bankers, financial experts and lawyers.
The task of this steering committee would be to provide objective information and to propose an overall solution for the rehabilitation of the CCB banking group.
Trade unions and employers’ associations warn that there may be corporate bankruptcies and many people may lose their jobs if the crisis in CCB is not addressed soon. The representatives of the trade unions and employers’ associations insist on an immediate meeting with the BNB Governing Council.
The other main demand is for urgent negotiations about Bulgaria’s joining the European Banking Union.
