Traffic police starts sanctioning riders of electric scooters because by law they have no right to travel on roads, Commissioner Lyubomir Kostadinov, the Head of the Traffic Police in Sofia said on September 4. Speaking to the Bulgarian National Radio, he added there already had been quite a few accidents involving electric scooters and called the users to be careful.
Kostadinov did not answer whether it was illegal for scooters to be ridden on pavements.
