Movement of trains was suspended in 3 sections in Bulgaria due to the heavy winter conditions, Bulgaria’s national company “Railway Infrastructure” said on 18th of January.
The movement was stopped on the line between Komunari and Shumen, North Bulgaria, due to fallen trees which caused damage to the overhead wires.
The stretch between Dulovo and Silistra, North Bulgaria was suspended because of snowdrifts and large piles of snow blown on the tracks. Rotary showplough is expected to come from the city of Rousse to clear the snow.
The train movement on the route between the village of Most and Kardhzlai in South Bulgaria was stopped because rocks fell on the rail tracks.
Bulgaria’s national railway company said that all other lines across the country are operational, but reminded that trains may get delayed due to the bad weather conditions.
