Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Ukraine Kostadin Kodzhabashev on November 19 was invited to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was told Ukraine's position that President Rumen Radev's statement on Crimea in a televised debate last night was incorrect and unacceptable.
A statement from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said:
"It was stressed that the words of the current Bulgarian president do not contribute to the development of good neighbourly relations between Ukraine and Bulgaria and are in sharp contradiction with the official position of Sofia" - in support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
Kiev expects the president to withdraw his words.
