On International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, November 25, protests took place in Sofia, Varna, Veliko Turnovo and Stara Zagora, demanding adequate policy for the prevention of violence and creation of new crisis centres.
In Sofia, the protest was held outside the Palace of Courts building,
According to data from the organisers, every month this year, a woman lost her life because of violence. That is why the protest was under the banner “One is too much, no more!”
According to NGOs, the incidence of violence during the pandemic has increased dramatically.
