On 8th of October, the Bulgarian police arrested 107 foreigners who had no identity documents. They claimed they were from Afghanistan and Iraq.
One of the groups, including a woman with three children, was detained in Sofia’s residential suburb “Moderno predgradie”. The police made the arrests after cautious members of the public reported they noticed a group of foreigners.
Another group of 58 men were arrested in Sofia residential suburb “Nadezhda” shortly after the first arrest. They claimed they were from Afghanistan.
None of the foreign citizens had personal identity documents.
