24 candidates applied for registration in the forthcoming Presidential elections on 6th of November. The deadline for registration of the candidates in the Central Election Commission (CEC) was 17:00 on 5th of October.
12 political parties were registered for the Presidential elections. CEC refused registration of one of them.5 coalitions were registered and 15 nomination committees.
24 candidates for President and their Vice Presidential running mates submitted documents for registration in CEC for participation in the elections. In comparison with previous Presidential elections, the candidates in 2011 were 18.
The “Movement for Rights and Freedoms” and DOST party resisted for the elections as parties but did not nominate candidates.
