A bus carrying 50 people crashed on the main road Sofia-Varna, killing 3, regional directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Lovech, Northern Bulgaria, said on 22nd of December.
The accident occured in the region of Mikre village. The passengers were officials from the municipal administration of Lyaskovets. The bus overturned after a head-on collision with a car.
The police said that at least 3 people were killed and 12-13 were injured. They were transported in ambulances and private cars to the nearest hospital in Lovech.
Passage of vehicles in the area of the accident is temporarily restricted. Vehicles will detour via road III-401 in the direction Mikre-Lovech and then on road II-35 in the direction Lovech – Ablanitsa.
On-site investigation is taking place.
According to initial information, the car crashed into the bus and then it overturned.
The road is temporarily closed for traffic.
