Thirty one Bulgarians have expressed their wish to be evacuated from Sudan.
Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry is in contact with them around the clock, caretaker Deputy Foreign Minister Kostadin Kodzhabashev said at an emergency briefing on April 24. He further explained that options for evacuation routes are being sought and proposed in a coordinated manner. Tanya Dimitrova from the Situation Centre in the Ministry pointed out that a crisis management headquarters has been organised and gave details on the route of the Bulgarians evacuated from Sudan and their current location.
10 Bulgarian citizens are still in Sudan and efforts are being made to safely remove them from the country.
"Currently, 31 Bulgarian citizens who are in the territory of Sudan have expressed their wish for evacuation. Constant and round-the-clock contact is maintained with all of them and full information is provided on the available options for routes by air and sea, as well as on the specific security situation in the region," Kostadin Kodzhabashev said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria has taken the necessary measures and is doing everything possible, in coordination with its partners from the European Union, for the safe evacuation of the Bulgarian citizens in Sudan, the ministry said on April 23.
The Situation Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Bulgarian Embassy in Cairo are looking for and offering our compatriots various options and routes for evacuation by air and by land.
Constant contact is maintained around the clock with all Bulgarians and full information is provided on the available options and the security situation, the Foreign Ministry added.
