Five doctors from Varna, infected with coronavirus, are in a very serious condition.
The medics are in an intensive care unit and their colleagues are fighting for their lives.
There are 1,740 newly registered cases in the district of Varna last week, of which 303 are in hospital.
"There are 56 medical specialists infected with the virus, which is worrying, 22 doctors, 14 nurses and 20 other staff. We are talking about nurses, mostly from" St. Marina" and "St. Anna" hospitals. We have five doctors in the intensive care unit in "St. Anna" hospital. They are in a very serious condition, hopefully not life threatening," said the regional governor of the city of Varna, Stoyan Passev.
