A 54-year-old woman died at a hospital in the South-western Bulgarian city of Blagoevgrad, a few days after she received a Covid-19 vaccine.
The director of the medical institution, Dr. Ognyan Mitev, on March 16 explained that she was admitted to the hospital in an extremely serious condition.
The first PCR test was negative. However, a scan revealed that part of her lung was severely damaged.
A repeat PCR test was performed, which was positive. The woman died of acute heart failure and pulmonary edema.
According to Dr. Mitev, the vaccine is not the cause of the patient's serious condition.
The deceased woman was a teacher at the school in the town of Rila.
