Nine persons were arrested in Yambol district during a specialised police operation on March 10. They have committed crimes against property and possession of narcotics. Two of those arrested have been declared wanted by the state.
Checks were carried out on 19 persons with previous criminal record. In the course of the police actions, data were collected and the perpetrators were identified in 5 pre-trial proceedings. 10 checkpoints were established in the territory of the district.
So far 467 vehicles and 588 persons have been checked. 128 violations of the Road Traffic Act have been detected and administrative penalties have been imposed. 17 warning reports under the Ministry of Interior Act were issued.
67 private homes and commercial establishments were checked. The control authorities issued 22 notices for various administrative offences and imposed 107 tickets. The specialised police operation on the territory of Yambol region is to counter household crime and vote buying for the upcoming elections. It is being carried out in cooperation with the gendarmerie, the Regional Directorate of Police, the National Revenue Agency and the Commission for Consumer Protection.
