The national council of the left-wing ABV party voted to support the nomination of former air force chief, General Roumen Radev, as candidate to run for President at the forthcoming presidential elections on 6th of November.
Roumen Radev will be the candidate of a wide coalition of left-wing, patriotic and centrist political forces, ABV leade and former President of Bulgaria, Georgi Parvanov, said on 18th of August after a meeting of the party’s national council.
On 17th of August, the main opposition party, the centre-left Bulgarian Socialist Party, voted to endorse General Rumen Radev, as its presidential candidate days after he submitted his resignation as commander of the air force.
