BORDER POLICE DETAINED THREE HUMAN TRAFFICKERS FROM AFGHANISTAN NEAR BULGARIA’S BOURGAS

Border police officers from the Bulgarian coastal city of Bougras detained three human traffickers from Afghanistan, BGNES agency reports on 1st of September.

The police officers stopped a minibus for inspection in the area of Chengene Skele, on the road Sozopol – Bourgas, South Bulgaria. In the back of the vehicle, the police officers found a group of 20 illegal migrants – 18 from Afghanistan and 2 from Pakistan.

The minibus was driven by a person from Sofia. The police identified the driver has never been issued a driving license, the Ministry of Interior said on 1st of September. He was accompanied by a man from Sofia, for whom the border police officers identified that he was circulated as wanted to all police forces in the country in relation to an effective sentence of imprisonment.

Close to this place, police officers from Tsarevo detained three Afghan nationals. As a result of the conducted operational and investigative activities, the police identified that the three Afghans were traffickers, who organized the illegal crossing of the group into Bulgaria. The police has identified that one of the Afghans who leads the criminal activities of the group had been sentenced on bail for illegally crossing into the country at the beginning of 2016. The illegal migrants were detained by the police in Bourgas.
