The total number of candidates for Members of Parliament in the forthcoming early general elections is 4,732, data of Bulgaria’s Central Election Commission (CEC) showed on 23rd of February.
The independent candidates nominated by initiative committees are 11. By 26th of February, the Civil Registration and Administrative Servicing unit has to check whether the candidates meet the requirements to be elected. 9 parties and 9 coalitions have registered lists for participation in all 31 constituencies in the country. Two parties have nominated candidates only in some constituencies, CEC spokesperson Kamelia Neykova said.
