Bulgarian Parliament voted to approve the resignation of GERB MP Anton Todorov on 11th of October. 153 MPs voted in favour, 14 voted against the resignation and 11 abstained.
Todorov submitted his resignation after the remarks he made in the morning show of Nova Televizia on 6th of October, triggered sharp reactions from politicians and media.
Speaking after the vote, Anton Todorov said that Prime Minister Borissov categorically opposed to him resigning. He added that PM Borissov and him discussed the resignation and decided that Todorov’s words about the empty chair of the co-host of Nova Televizia morning show were turned into a propaganda tool by some circles for urging for resignation of the most successful governance in the past 28 years.
