Bulgaria’s President Roumen Radev on 31st of August awarded Stara Planina Order 1st class to Marian Jakubocy, the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Bulgaria. The outgoing diplomat received the highest state award for his contribution to the development of the Bulgarian-Slovak relations.
The Bulgarian head of state has stressed that during Mr. Jakubocy’s tenure, he has established himself as a friend, partner and ally, not only in bilateral format, but also within the framework of the EU and NATO. He also noted that more and more Slovak tourists find Bulgaria a desirable destination, and their number now reaches 70,000 people per year.
Ambassador Jakubocy confirmed that Bratislava supports the future accession of our country to the Schengen area.
