Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said on 15th of August that by the end of the day, the senior management of the Bulgarian border police should submit resignations and leave their posts after a contract for transportation of migrants was given to a business person arrested for alleged people-trafficking in Bulgaria.
Borissov also said that during visits at the border, he met many dignified border police officers and already has in mind some, who could become the new management of the Border Police. In addition to the dismissals, the Prime Minister ordered the Minister of Interior Roumyana Bachvarova to investigate whether there was an “umbrella” over the people-traffickers.
