The only Bulgarian university abroad - Taraclia State University "Grigori Camblak", has more potential for development. Our common goal is for the young people who graduate to receive a good education in accordance with the specifics of the region, to stay and live in Taraclia and to develop it, Bulgaria’s Vice President Iliana Yotova said at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Bulgaria Anatol Chebuk at the Presidency in Sofia on December 7.

The Vice President stressed the need to create educational and business opportunities for the development of the Moldovan region with large Bulgarian community and for joint investment projects with Bulgaria.

"Therefore, the interest in the university should be strengthened, the quality should be increased and the specialties necessary for the region should be created," Iliana Yotova pointed out.

She expressed hope that the negotiations on the transformation of the Taraclia University into a branch of "Angel Kanchev" University of Rousse will be finalized soon.

Since the beginning of the academic year, students from university in Rousse have been studying Business Management at Taraclia State University. Ambassador Chebuc briefed the Vice President on the Moldovan state's plans for a comprehensive reform of higher education, which will begin next year.

The meeting also discussed the opportunities for education in Bulgarian universities, which Bulgaria provides for students of Bulgarian origin, and the changes, which were adopted at the initiative of the Vice President, to facilitate this process.
