The government on March 24 approved an expanded position outlining the priorities of the Bulgarian hosting of the Three Seas initiative.
Bulgaria's main goal during the chairmanship in 2021 will be to attract new investments and partners from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
In this regard, a business forum is to be organized to connect regional companies and foreign investors. This is stated in part of the position submitted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ekaterina Zaharieva, in her capacity as national coordinator of the "Three Seas".
A priority for Bulgaria is the provision of additional funding from the European Union for the implementation of projects along the "North-South" line, which aim to improve transport, energy and digital connectivity between the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
In this regard, Bulgaria will focus on the digitalization of railway transport in the region as a project with high added value.
