The District Court in the Bulgarian town of Haskovo ordered on 3rd of January the extradition of a Dutch woman suspected of trying to join the “Islamic State” terrorist group in Syria in December 2016.
The 33-year-old woman was arrested at a border crossing point with Turkey on 21st of December on the basis of a European arrest warrant. She was wanted by the prosecution in the Dutch city of Eindhoven after police found a handwritten letter at her home saying that she was leaving to join the Islamic state in Syria.
Turkey had already detained her and interviewed her and then returned her to the Bulgarian authorities. She confirmed her consent to be extradited to the Netherlands.
