The Head of Bulgaria’s Border Police Antonio Angelov and senior commissioner Yotko Andreev submitted resignations on 15th of August. Earlier today, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov called for their resignations after a contract for transportation of migrants was awarded to an alleged people-trafficker.
Yotko Andreev is the Head of the public procurement procedure. He signed the contract for hiring a bus for transportation of persons, who crossed the border illegally and were detained in the interior of the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Roumyana Bachvarova accepted the resignations of Angelov and Andreev, the Ministry of Interior’s press office said.
