Bulgarian Deputy PМ Met with French Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice

Bulgaria supports the idea of the French President Macron that the European Public Prosecutor's Office should investigate not only financial fraud, but also cross-border cases of terrorism. This was said in Paris by Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ekaterina Zaharieva, during a meeting with the French Justice Minister, Nicole Bellube on 24^th of October. During her visit to the French capital Zaharieva discussed the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union with France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Év Le Diane.

The Bulgarian Deputy PM is on a two-day visit to Paris on 23rd and 24^th of October.

The establishment of European Public Prosecutor's Office, enhanced integration in civil law and progress on online sales dosiers are the priorities of the Bulgarian presidency in the field of justice, which Deputy Prime Minister Zaharieva presented to the French Justice Minister.

The two also discussed the mechanism for cooperation and verification, and the expert assistance in the area of justice, which France can provide to us.

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Év Le Diane said the Bulgarina presidency of the Council of the EU will be extremely important and Paris is ready to help Sofia.

France also supported the Bulgarian positions on asylum policy and the preparation of reception mechanism right at the border. The aim is to ensure that the EU helps refugees, not economic migrants. The two ministers also spoke about the prospects for the Western Balkans.

Minister Zaharieva thanked her French counterpart and for his country's support for Bulgaria's accession to the so-called eurozone waiting room.
